My hands hold your Holy Body

Me, Mary, the Hebrew girl next door
Holding a Holy God
God with us
God with me
God, please be with me
My heart has never beat faster
My head is full of reflection Joseph comforts me with his touch
Father, please comfort him tonight
We’ve been through so much these past few months
What are people saying?

I wonder

Will they believe that this baby is from above?
From You?
And, in fact, is You?

I can hardly believe it myself
It is all becoming quite real now though
Heavenly hosts surround us singing hallelujahs
Shepherds kneel and pay homage to this heaven come to earth
They too encountered angels visiting earth
Word is out that wise men are on their way as well
Bringing gifts no less
No less for a King
I’m holding a King
I’m holding THE King
I don’t know if I am ready for all of this
The Savior of the world coming from my womb
I pray the world will see the family resemblance
When they see me,
I pray they will see
You
Emmanuel
God with us
