I didn’t plan to write twelve books. (Explore Chris Maxwell’s Twelve books here.)

I just kept writing—because I kept living, kept hurting, kept healing, kept listening, kept learning. The words came slowly, sometimes suddenly, shaped by invitations from Jesus, by deep pauses, by the storms and the stillness.

Each book tells part of the story.

My story.

Maybe yours.

Here’s a look back—a journey through the books I’ve written over the years.

1. Beggars Can Be Chosen: An Inspirational Journey Through the Invitations of Jesus

This is where it all began. Jesus invited people then. He invites us now. I needed to write about those invitations—how they still change lives.

2. Changing My Mind: A Journey of Disability and Joy

When encephalitis changed everything, writing became therapy and testimony. This is the story of losing pieces of my brain—and finding joy anyway.

3. Unwrapping His Presence: What We Really Need for Christmas

Not noise. Not stuff. Presence. This devotional whispers what I needed to hear during Christmas: slow down, unwrap wonder, find Christ again.

4. Pause: The Secret to a Better Life, One Word at a Time

One word each week. A rhythm of reflection. A slower pace. This book came from my desire to help others live better—not faster.

5. Pause for Moms: Finding Rest in a Too Busy World

Moms are heroes—and they’re tired. I wrote this for the worn-out, the wonderful, the women who need grace in their grind.

6. Pause for Pastors: Finding Still Waters in the Storm of Ministry

Ministry can feel like drowning. I know. This book is a lifeline—a reminder to rest, breathe, listen, and rediscover why we said yes.

7. Pause with Jesus: Encountering His Story in Everyday Life

Jesus didn’t rush. He walked. He noticed. This is a book of short reflections meant to bring His story into our everyday moments.

8. Underwater: When Encephalitis, Brain Injury, and Epilepsy Change Everything

This is the hardest one I’ve written. The rawest. A deep dive into the world of neurological storms, written for those who live underwater.

9. a slow and sudden God: 40 years of wonder

This book is a collection of poems. A journal in verse. After four decades of ministry, I reflected on God’s mystery and movement—the slow, the sudden, the sacred.

10. embracing now: pain, joy, healing, living

Another book of poetry. Honest. Tender. These poems hold the tension of the present moment—where pain and joy collide, where healing and living happen.

11. Equilibrium: 31 Ways to Stay Balanced on Life’s Uneven Surfaces

Life isn’t always steady. But balance is still possible. This book offers 31 ways to find center—even when everything tilts.

12. Things We’ve Handed Down: Twelve Letters I Leave for You

A legacy of letters. Words I hope outlive me. I wrote these for those who come after us—stories, prayers, and truths passed down.

Twelve books. One story. Many pauses.

Thanks for walking with me through these words.
