Life moves fast. Too fast. We rush from one task to the next, barely pausing to notice the moments that make up our days. But what if we slowed down? What if we truly saw what was right in front of us?

The Psalms remind us to treasure time, to be fully present with God and with those around us. Psalm 90:12 says, “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” This isn’t about counting time but making time count. It’s about living with awareness, not allowing moments to slip by unnoticed.

Jesus modeled this. Though His mission was urgent, He was never in a hurry. He noticed the overlooked. He stopped for the blind beggar (Mark 10:46-52). He welcomed the children when others tried to push them away (Mark 10:13-16). He looked up at Zacchaeus in the tree, calling him by name (Luke 19:1-10). Jesus lived each moment with purpose, with presence. He saw people. He heard them. He was fully there.

But we? We rush. We check our phones while having conversations. We worry about tomorrow while missing today. We live in fast-forward rather than in the now.

In Pause, I wrote, “Slowing down is not about doing less; it’s about experiencing more.” What if we did that today? What if we noticed the sound of laughter, the feel of the breeze, the kindness in a stranger’s smile? What if we truly listened when someone spoke?

And in Equilibrium, I reflected on how balance isn’t about perfect schedules but about presence. When we embrace the moments in front of us—whether they are ordinary or extraordinary—we find a steadiness, a peace that hurry can never offer.

So today, let’s pause. Let’s breathe in the goodness of now. Let’s live each moment fully, because each moment is a gift.

Will you?
