The stage is set.
Caps are tossed high like prayers in the wind. Tears find their way down smiling cheeks. Laughter echoes across the crowd. Smiles spread. Phones are held high—today’s modern lens of remembering. Applause rises and lingers, like it’s reaching into eternity.
You stand there, diploma in hand—but you hold more than paper. You hold a memory. A story. A seed.
It is not the end.
This is not the finish line; this is a turning page. A new chapter, filled with blank lines and yet-to-be-discovered colors. The classroom changes form, but the learning never stops.
Now you learn how to breathe deeply when anxiety whispers lies. You learn how to listen—to voices of wisdom, to pain, to beauty. You learn how to love without fear, how to forgive what feels unforgivable, how to speak truth with tenderness. You learn how to step forward. You learn how to pause. You learn how to endure.
You carry more than facts and formulas. You carry faith. You carry friendships. You carry scars and songs and stories. You carry resilience. You carry dreams not yet defined.
Use what you’ve received—academically, spiritually, relationally, personally. Let your studies become strategies for serving. Let your weaknesses become bridges to those who feel alone. Let your story be a song that sings hope to the hurting.
What can you do that no one else can do quite like you? You—formed in the image of God, crafted with care, loved beyond measure, called to create, to heal, to give, to build, to be.
Don’t forget to seek help when you need it. Family. Friends. Pastors. Mentors. Find people who remind you who you are when you start to forget. Let them help you aim your ambition toward what matters most.
Care for your future family. Care for your job. But care even more for your soul.
Receive your diploma—yes.
But also receive your calling. Receive courage. Receive clarity. Receive the reminder: you can make a difference.
So carry it. Carry what you’ve learned. Carry who you’ve become. Carry the unseen treasures earned in quiet moments. Carry it all into the world you were created to impact.
And carry it with you—where you were created to go.
Chris,
I have read your speech. Where was it delivered?
You did not reveal the facts about it!
What is your cell phone number?
I need to talk with you.
