We don’t talk about endurance very often anymore.
Not the kind that keeps going when you’re exhausted. Not the kind that chooses faith when everything in you wants to quit.
But that’s what Paul handed down to Timothy in his final letter.
And that’s what we need right now.
Paul told Timothy to stay the course—even when it got hard, even when others gave up, even when the applause faded and the resistance increased.
You might feel that. You might feel it today.
You’re trying to follow Jesus. You’re trying to live with purpose. You’re doing what’s right—but it’s harder than you thought.
That’s when endurance matters most.
Not when everything’s easy, but when everything’s not.
“Endure hardship… keep your head… do the work.” (2 Timothy 4:5)
This isn’t just about working hard. It’s about not giving up when the reward doesn’t come right away.
Paul reminded Timothy to hold tightly to what he’d learned—to go back to Scripture, to remember the people who shaped him, to trust the Word that never fades.
We need that reminder, too.
You don’t have to be flashy. You don’t have to be loud. Just stay faithful.
When the world changes. When others fall away. When your heart wavers.
Endurance.
One day at a time. One act of obedience at a time. One long road in the same direction.
Hold on.
Keep going.
Don’t give up.
God is still with you—and that is enough.

Thanks again Chris!
Great as always!
The word trust has continually come up recently. I am in the process of making a big decsion that will shape lots of my future, and God has been reminding me what is most important. I am thankful that He is calling me to trust Him. He is trustworthy. He proves that every day. All I have to do is trust the Word just like you said.
Endurance has been a word I’ve been walking through recently. It felt like challenge after challenge has been thrown at me and knowing God will pull me through and work it out for the greater good brings me peace. Knowing the reward might not come right away, but remaining still in His presence is so important. Where the blog said, “You don’t have to be flashy. You don’t have to be loud. Just stay faithful,” spoke to me so much. We just have to stay faithful and endure.
“ This isn’t just about working hard. It’s about not giving up when the reward doesn’t come right away.” This quote is so true. Often it’s easy to get overwhelmed with outcomes and demotivated from negative circumstances but we must stay the course and keep holding onto and leaning on God’s strength and not our own.
This isn’t just a regular word; this is something you have to go over and beyond for. There is a challenge in life, and it’s to be good for yourself but not just yourself. “You’re trying to follow Jesus. You’re trying to live with purpose. “You’re doing what’s right—but it’s harder than you thought.” This statementspeaks to me in every way. It’s hard to be great at life but it will take time. It might take a while but it will get done, so just dont give up. Keep going; you’re here for a purpose: to change people’s lives like Jesus did
The tricky thing about endurance that we often think is that we think that we carry ourselves through. I often think that I can pull myself through to the finish line or to make it through whatever I have to do by my own strength. I have been learning endurance comes from the Lord, we can use it or not use it. The Lord will see us through to the end, he will give us the strength to get through. So my prayer recently has been Lord, please carry me through this because in my own strength I am not able.
Having faith was always a struggle for me. but i realized no matter how hard life may get and no matter how hard you fight and wanna give up just keep having faith in him. When things get hard, when you feel like you can go no more having faith that God has given us and keep moving. God can remove anything out your life and it may hurt but have faith that God knows what he is doing.
My favorite verse is Hebrews 10:36, which literally speaks to the importance of pressing forward, running the race set before us, because of the reward that awaits us. The verse states. “For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what is promised.” There is a promise at the end, there is a promise right now, eternity starts now. What a reminder that we can endure because there is something promised, something worth fighting for, and someone fighting with us.
When I think off endurance I think of working out, running, lifting for a long period of time. But Ive never stopped to think of it as a spiritual word. After reading this blog it has changed my perspective. I think we need to have endurance in living for his faith. A lot of time we get pushed down and we ask, “Why God?” and we start to wonder if God was so goof why is he letting these things happen? We need to remain strong in our faith and have endurance to remain faithful even during the hard times.
Endurance does not matter when things are easy. Endurance matters when things become hard. When things are going good in our lives it is easy to endure, and it is easy to be positive. We need to keep this same energy when things in life become challenging.
I’m so used to hearing about success, growth, rest, but not endurance. Not the king that keeps appearing when you’re feeling drained or unmotivated. What stood out to me is how real this feels. Following Jesus isn’t always easy. There are times where it can feel slow, lonely, and even a little bit of feeling like you’re unseen. There are times where I question this myself. And in those moments, my instinct isn’t always to endure, but to question or pull back and try to take the easy way out. But this blog is a reminder that endurance isn’t about feeling strong, it’s about choosing to stay faithful even when I don’t feel strong at all.
It’s not about doing something big or impressive. It’s about just waking up each day and choosing God again and again. Choosing to trust Him, to obey Him and keep going even when you feel tired or discouraged. God is still working in ways we may not be able to see.
Endurance isn’t only important when things are easy. It is easy to be positive and to want to keep going when you’re not facing anything difficult. It’s when hard times do come, how do we push through? No, it’s not by trying too hard, or overthinking, or pushing ourselves to the limit. It’s simply by having faith, enduring the moment and trusting that God will bring us through. We have to take one step at a time, one moment at a time, and allow God to bring us through.
I really liked this blog. I liked when you said, “This isn’t just about working hard. It’s about not giving up when the reward doesn’t come right away”, because it highlights how real endurance is tested in the waiting, not just in the effort. That really stood out to me because it’s easy to stay motivated when things are going well, but much harder when you don’t immediately see results. The reminder to stay faithful even without recognition or quick rewards is challenging but encouraging. It’s a perspective that helps shift the focus from outcomes to consistency and trust.
I loved this blog! I loved when you wrote “That’s when endurance matters most.
Not when everything’s easy, but when everything’s not”. This is just a good reminder to us as christians that it isn’t supposed to be easy but if we endure till the end our reward is way greater than we can imagine.
I love that you talk about endurance as faith. It is reminding us that we are doing everything to glorify God, and endurance is in important when it comes to that. This was a great blog and well spoken.
I feel like I do try to stop too soon. Almost like the feeling of just wanting it to pass over already. If it stops, maybe it will feel like it is over? I don’t think it works that way, but I can’t help but feel like that’s exactly what I do. But stopping it will not solve my problems, and I have really been battling that recently. Not acknowledging my problems so they don’t feel real. This blog I think, is the most important to me. Made me bawl my eyes out for 30 minutes lol.
I sometimes mix up endurance with consistency. Because I struggle to enjoy and take time to appreciate where I’m at. Because I always want to do what’s up next in my life. And not take time to myself and enjoy what I have going on now. I should like, God take ahold of the wheel. And try to not Look too far ahead in the future.
I really liked this blog! Being a senior is nothing more than doing what we are supposed to do, but also trusting God’s plans. Sometimes it feels like everything is falling apart, everything gets so overwhelming, so when you wrote “one day at a time. One act of obedience at a time. One long road in the same direction”, it stood out to me.
Endurance is one of the hardest things we have to build as Christians, because in order to build endurance, we have to go through so many different struggles. It’s easy in the midst of these struggles to get angry with God and want to give up, but being obedient and still trusting God even when we struggle is extremely hard. It’s when things are overwhelming that’s when we feel like all we can do is just pray that the struggle passes. When our faith is truly tested, and it’s in those moments that if we continue to be strong in our faith, the Lord will transform us and use us in miraculous ways.
This really stood out to me because it shows that endurance is not just about pushing through physically, but about trusting God in the waiting. The idea of things unfolding slowly and not on our timeline hit home, because that is where a lot of growth actually happens. I think it is easy to want quick answers or quick results, but this reminds me that God often works in a process, not a moment. It challenged me to stay steady, keep praying, and trust that even when I cannot see it, something is still happening.
This is something I really needed to hear. It’s easy to stay motivated when things are going well, but endurance is what matters when everything feels hard and discouraging. I like how it focuses on just staying faithful and not giving up, even when there’s no immediate reward. Just taking it one day at a time honestly makes it feel more doable.
