Spiritual disciplines aren’t about checking boxes.

They’re about opening doors.

They’re invitations—methods of connecting with God, of becoming more aware of His presence in the middle of our real, busy, noisy lives.

Here are fifteen spiritual disciplines—simple but sacred ways to spend time with Him:

·         Encouragement

·         Unplugging

·         Solitude

·         Confession

·         Slowing

·         Worship

·         Meditation

·         Self-care

·         Rest

·         Submission

·         Gratitude

·         Intercessory Prayer

·         Community

·         Teachability

·         Prayer Partners

Let’s take time to read about them. Let’s choose to study and learn what each one looks like in real life. Let’s begin practicing them—not perfectly, but honestly.

Each practice offers an opportunity. A moment to sit with our Father, walk with our Mentor, and draw strength from our Helper.

While we read Pause with Jesus

While we take classes and meet friends and eat meals and complete all assignments.

When we feel overwhelmed and when we feel overjoyed.

When we hold deep faith and when doubt bombards us.

When we’re wide awake or completely worn out.

When we’re alone or surrounded by others.

When we just need a reminder that we’re not doing this life alone.

Fifteen practices.

One sacred journey.

Let’s begin—slowly, intentionally, together.
