After our youngest son’s wedding last weekend, I thought of this word.
While seeing so many people I’ve known for so many years, I thought of this word.
On my 35th wedding anniversary with Debbie today, I’m thinking again of this word.
It’s a word we hear in songs and see in movies. It’s a word used in sermons and stories and letters and pictures. It’s a word talked about but often misunderstood. It’s a nice word to hear but not a simple life to live.
I’ll not say much more about the word. Instead, I’ll read these examinations again and pray I become better at living as a man of the word: love.
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres” (1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NIV).
Congratulations on your last son getting married. Linda Newberry
